It was 2010 when I first went to work in the Diamond District of New York City, but my interest in jewelry and metalwork has been with me much longer. A love of tools and all things technical has guided me in an industry where tradition and technology compete and combine in nearly every shop. I feel that my home is at the bench, surrounded by the smell of shellac and wintergreen oil, but I’m finding a second home at the computer, using CAD to do modelmaking experiments with a freedom that wasn’t available to me in wax. Wherever the future is taking the jewelry industry, I’m excited to see what is coming.
